And day lilies…
And teeny dandelion for the pollinators!
The man who sells me coffee every morning wears a jacket that says…
“Your fear of looking stupid is holding you back!”
So I won’t let that stop me from sharing a few things.
Like my laundry basket!
It’s a painting! Mixing checks and stripes has always been forbidden but it looks so cool! I might not have added Arthur’s gray socks but maybe the eye needs a resting place. And there are my Bombas! Do you know about Bombas? The worlds best socks and a great business model. Some young finance guys decided they’d made enough money and now wanted to do some good so they asked, “what’s most requested in homeless shelters?” the answer is socks so they set about creating the very best, and for every pair they sell, they donate one. Try a pair and you’ll never put anything else on your feet.
Learn about their mission here; Bombas
And they last forever, unless you, like me, live with someone who likes to eat them.
On to Sports News. My granddaughter Molly is the smallest player on her softball team and she exploits it by creating a tiny strike zone—her walk percentage is off the charts! That’s looking ‘em over, Molly—just get on base and let the power hitters drive you home.
You know I like to share the welcoming message at my gym, but this week it’s a bit mysterious.
“May the longer days inspire you to spend more time _____ing your dreams.”
So, what are we doing with our passions? Chasing them? pursuing them? I guess it’s up to us. Let’s live our dreams.
What a week this is. With the roses we have sadness—we’ve lost Sly Stone and Brian Wilson, geniuses who brought us so much joy and such beautiful ways to see ourselves and our world as we grew up. Their songs are running through my head as I write this—Wouldn’t it be Nice? and Dance to the Music, and Help Me Rhonda, Barbara Ann, of course, Everyday People and Stand!. How can you sit still? To celebrate them I’m sharing the Commodores’ song the Nightshift, written to commemorate Jackie Wilson and Marvin Gaye and other artists now making music in Heaven. It always makes me cry but in a nice way.
Thanks for the song--didn't remember The Commodores, but a great tribute to friends gone.
Love my Bombas, love your Russell, but together, maybe not a good idea!
