About that Cardinal
Have I been too subtle?
I am writing this on Thanksgiving but you’ll read it, I hope, on the day after Thanksgiving, also known as Black Friday which means GET SHOPPING!
I remember a time when the hours and minutes between Thanksgiving and Christmas stretched on endlessly but now there’s not enough time to get everything I want done.
Like Christmas Cards! Which is really reaching out to the friends I may not see everyday, to say, “I’m thinking of you.”
Last Sunday the NY Times ran a whole page about Holiday Greeting Cards with advice, directions and encouragement.
the last sentence is, “Stay in touch and keep those ties, It’s just like a warm hug.”
I can help you with that;
Well, now it’s Friday morning; I didn’t get this out last night, or even early today but now I can report on a lovely day. I had the best time, a beautiful dinner cooked by friends and I came home with the carcass to make turkey soup—my favorite part of Thanksgiving. so, Thank you, Julie and Robert!
Looking ahead, my work will be hanging in the gallery at Jefferson Market Library here in the Village.
I hope to get it up next week and it’ll be there through December and maybe into January and I hope you’ll come see it.
Now, to mark the official start of the holiday season, the first song from my Book of Carols;
Wishing you comfort and joy as we all get busy.
